This book is speaking to me in particular.

“Anxiety; excessive need for affection, including demands for exclusive and unconditional love; a feeling of rebuff if these demands are not fulfilled; reaction to the rebuff with intense hostility; need to repress the hostility because of fear of losing the affection; the tension of a diffuse rage; increased anxiety; increased need for reassurance. The very means that serve to reassure against anxiety create in turn new hostility and new anxiety.”
